About this class
During the first three months of a baby’s life, two million neural connections are created every second, which is why sensory stimulation is vital for them.
Baby Sign classes have multisensory aspects that not only keep your baby engaged and entertained, but exposes your baby to these experiences from birth which can advance their brain structure.
These experiences, along with learning to sign from such an early age lay the foundations for your baby’s learning and give them a great head start.
What is covered?
Our Baby Sign classes teach you to use vocabulary from British Sign Language. We use BSL because not only are we teaching you a way to communicate to your baby using sign language but we are also teaching parts of a recognised language which will enable you to communicate with the deaf community. Another benefit or teaching BSL to your baby is that by learning languages it helps to keep the language centre in the brain open enabling a variety of other languages to be learned more easily! By teaching BSL were helping to create lots of little bilingual babies.
The classes are planned and taught with all areas of your baby’s development in mind. They aid development in cognitive development, social development, speech and language development, fine motor and gross motor skills, engagement skills and they are educational for both parents and babies!
What to expect?
Baby Sign has been designed to be taken in a relaxed, personal and sociable environment, allowing parents the opportunity to get to know each other , meet like-minded parents and talk about their babies, share stories and even offer advice!
It is a class where both you and your baby are learning to use sign language on a daily basis to enhance your bond and make parenting that little bit easier.
